Service Description

Middlewood Way and Macclesfield Canal We set off from The Railway Pub heading towards Higher Poynton and Nelson's Pit Visitor Centre along The Middlewood Way. After visiting the centre we'll head back along The Macclesfield Canal towards Marple where we'll pass down Church Lane whilst taking a brief look at The Grand Houses that are sometimes missed whilst travelling in a car. Distance 12.5km Gears 1 and 2 there's very little height gain throughout this walk which makes it an ideal starting point for some of our longer walks. There are toilets at the visitor centre which is approximately halfway. Optional Lunch and Drinks at The Railway afterwards. The paths are a mixture of canal towpaths, fields woodland paths and a little bit of pavement There's no need to worry about navigation, allowing you to take time to soak in the stunning views and enjoy great company. Led by an experienced Nordic Walking Instructor who is Outdoor First Aid Trained and will support you along the way. Whilst we do understand that sometimes it is not possible to make a class, please be aware that we do operate a no refund policy if you give us less than 24 hours’ notice.
