Sett Valley and Snake Path 7km

Sett Valley and Snake Path Guided Walk 7km

8 British pounds
Hayfield Bus Station, Station Road, Hayfield, High Peak SK22 2ES

Service Description

Sett Valley Trail and Snake Path This is a shorter option for Saturday's route, if you haven't got the time or not sure if you're up for the full 13km route. Meeting at Hayfield Bus Station we'll set off along the Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills. From there we head to the Pennine Bridleway before ascending part of Lantern Pike then we then head across towards the Lantern Pike in before heading up through the heather on Middlemoor to the Snake Path. As we head across to Kinder Reservoir the Kinder Plateau becomes more prominent, this is where the two groups will split and on this version you will then join the Snake Path and drop down to Hayfield and back to the start. (The Snake Path part is self-guided but I will supply maps with clear directions to ensure you get back to Hayfield easily) The paths are well marked and rocky in places there is also some road walking along the way (so paws may be preferable in places) Distance 7km and 275m of ascent, the main climbs are at approx 2km and 4km. Led by a Hill and Moorland Leader who is Outdoor First Aid Trained and will support you along the way. Whilst we do understand that sometimes it is not possible to make a class, please be aware that we do operate a no refund policy if you give us less than 24 hours’ notice. There are toilets at the car park, unfortunately the shop is now closed. Costs advertised on Derbyshire County Council Website are 3 hours - £3.50 or All day - £7. It was cash only last time I was there. Start location also served by the 358 Bus (There is limited on street parking which may be free, please park considerately if using this option)
